Pre-Program

On Wednesday, March 25th 2026 we offer our guests, who arrive earlier in Buchs (SG) an interesting pre-program. We are looking forward to welcome you there. Please indicate on the registration form, which activities you will be participating in. The Workshop OTF Studio Software is limited to 30 people, the company tour is limited to 60 people.

Participation in the Networking Dinner is possible without attending the workshop or company/ lab tours.

09:30 – 11:30 p.m. Workshop (please sign in on registration form, Max. 30 people)
OTF Studio Software: A Comprehensive Toolkit for Design, Reverse Engineering, and Monitoring of Optical Coatings

Purpose:

This talk addresses optical‑coating engineers, scientists, students, PhD researchers, and technicians engaged in the design, characterization, monitoring, production, and development of optical thin films.

Overview

  • Getting started: creating simple designs, organizing data into projects, and navigating the interface
  • Evaluation and analysis tools
  • Efficient optimization and synthesis workflows for thin‑film design
  • Advanced design capabilities for complex multilayer structures
  • Application‑specific design challenges, including narrow bandpass filters, notch filters, ultrafast application, and other laser‑related coatings
  • Reverse engineering workflows: models, algorithms, and methods for extracting coating structures from measured data M

01:00 p.m. Meeting Point in Buchs (OST – Ostschweizer Fachhochschule). We will then travel to Sargans together in carpools. Please indicate on the application form if you require a lift.

01:25 p.m. Meeting at ESPROS Photonics AG, Sargans (with those driving themselves)

01:30 – 03:00 p.m. Company visit ESPROS (Max. 60 people)

03:00 – 03:30 p.m. Coffee Break supported by ESPROS

Founded in 2006, ESPROS Photonics AG is a leading provider of Time-of-Flight (TOF) technology. Leveraging its expertise in optoelectronics and CCD/CMOS technology, ESPROS develops and manufactures TOF chips and camera modules that deliver precise 3D data, even under challenging lighting conditions. This makes ESPROS a key technology leader for autonomous navigation, object recognition, and other applications in dynamic environments. The company focuses on three core areas: ASIC design, standard chip products (TOF chips, line scan cameras, and photodiodes), and TOF camera modules. Because ESPROS covers the entire semiconductor design process and performs critical semiconductor processes at its own plant in Sargans, ESPROS is the reliable partner for all TOF sensor requirements.

03:30 – 04:00 p.m. Drive back to Buchs, OST- Ostschweizer Fachhochschule

04:00 – 04:45 p.m. Introductory presentations (OST/SIH, RhySearch, IOF)

04:45 – 05:45 p.m. Lab Tours at OST- Ostschweizer Fachhochschule and RhySearch
